Dear placement provider

Thank you for taking a student on work experience. We really appreciate you taking a young person and helping to develop their employability skills. We understand the pressures on businesses especially coming out of a series of lockdowns. On behalf of school, we have a request.

As a not-for-profit organisation we keep our costs as low as possible but appreciate the financial burden this puts on schools.

Our visit to your company fulfils many purposes including:

For the business:

• Advice on working with a 14 – 17 year olds, including specifics on each child
• Suppling local and national guidance
• Being available same day via email, phone or our website
• Working through your requirements and formulating a contract for the child
• Offering hints and tips regarding safe and practical placements
• Answering your questions and signposting where required
• Allowing access to our work experience portal
• Issuing certification
• Having a qualified person sat with you, to answer any concern there and then

For the child / parent:

• The knowledge that the placement has been visited by an appropriate adult
• The placement specifics have been considered, debated and recorded
• The placement is suitable for the individual child and vice-versa
• We have checked the insurance for that placement
• We have viewed the exact location the child will work and can convey this
• We can safely share information between the child, school and company

Our cost to the school is £35, this covers assemblies, parents’ evenings, the online portal access for all children, parents, staff and companies, certificates, 40-page workbook each, the physical visit, training and all administration.

School have asked if you would be prepared to make a donation (100% going to the school) of either £10, £20 or £35 per student.

With your permission we will publicise your business via the school, using their communication and social media channels and via our Countrywide networks and social media channels.
